Three generations of theatre professionals preceded my birth in 1945. My French born Dad was an aspiring but penniless  actor during the 40’s in New York City. My French grandmother, Germaine Wilson, was president of The Rehearsal Club for 12 years and the daughter of the great Belle Époque actress Réjane. Family stories of an illustrious and faded European past fascinated me, but war changes families as well as history.

Writing and performing plays throughout my simple childhood came naturally, but after a year at college, which I hated, apart from the theatre department, I enrolled at the America Academy of Dramatic Arts and moved in to The Rehearsal Club. After graduating from AADA,  my career included a few stints off Broadway, industrial films and summer stock before marriage intervened.

Moving offshore to the Caymans with banker husband and my two baby girls landed me in a colony of culturally starved but talented and resourceful ex-pats ready and willing to produce theatre.   The next ten years was devoted to every aspect of production on a high, regional level.   The National Theatre was created during my time as Director.

I returned to NYC in 1979 rewarded by the perfect job as one of the administrators and directors of Symphony Space, the “corner-store store of the arts” on Broadway and 95th.   My cherished six years there were as culturally enriched and diverse as the place itself.

Then a new marriage swept me off my feet and back to the tropics in Puerto Rico, where new skills were honed first in radio production, and then creating an advertising company specializing in all types of creative audio recordings.  My husband Glenn and I played major roles in performance and production of English-speaking theatre, TV commercials, corporate events and “novella” gigs.

The rest of the time we spent restoring and cruising beautiful old sailboats which culminated in a three year journey on both sides of the Atlantic.  The Accidental Captain tells the tale for all.

Now retired in Coconut Grove, Fl and actively involved in many non-profits, my life is full. I am committed to sustaining the legacy of The Rehearsal Club before our generation of residents is gone.  It's a personal thing!
